Medicinal cannabis clinic company Tetra Health has partnered with green pharmaceutical company Astrid Healthcare Pty Ltd to launch a new medicinal cannabis clinic in Melbourne.

Dubbing themselves as Australia’s first green dispensary, Astrid is a medical cannabis company focusing on cannabinoid medicine, nutraceuticals and plant-based therapies. Tetra Health, on the other hand, is the healthcare arm of Epsilon Healthcare Limited (ASX:EPN). Epsilon was formerly known as THC Global but changed its name recently after receiving shareholder approval to encompass their wider range of offerings.

Together, the two have launched a new in-person medicinal cannabis clinic, offering consultations for Australians seeking advice on medicinal cannabis treatment, or on the Special Access Scheme (SAS). While Astrid’s medicines are prescribed through a number of clinics nationwide, the company has now made Tetra Health its preferred partner for in-person consultations.

Their new clinic is located on Chapel Road, South Yarra – in a separate consulting room attached to Astrid’s dispensary. It is the first in-person clinic under the Tetra Health label, which has been offering telehealth consultations with doctors in its Sydney office.

According to a statement from Epsilon, the Melbourne clinic accepted its first patients on Thursday this week. The company also notes it will be charging an increased fee for in-person consultations, but patients will be able to receive a Medicare rebate for consultations.

In the ASX statement published on Thursday, Tetra Health’s general manager Laura Farhat wrote that the new clinic is the result of “significant interest” from patients.

We expect to see strong uptake from patients in Melbourne through this clinic, and look to expand this model into additional regions over time.

Like Tetra Health’s telehealth clinic, Farhat notes that South Yarra clinic will have “strong nurse support” for patients.

If the new South Yarra clinic is successful, Tetra Health and Astrid will expand their medicinal cannabis clinic to other locations.
