Strike Force Hyperion has struck again, with another massive cannabis seizure as the task force continues their investigation into cannabis cultivation throughout NSW.
On April 13, at around 11am, officers descended on the property in the rural town of Coolah, about a 5 hour drive north-west of Sydney.
They expected to find cannabis on the 285-acre property based on their information, and that’s exactly what they found.
In total, around 250kg of dried cannabis was seized, which they estimate to be worth $1.65 million. A double-barrelled shot gun and ammunition were also seized in the raid.
Three men were found on the property, aged 21, 45, and 47 – they were all promptly arrested. It’s alleged the 45-year-old is a current senior member of the Bandidos motorcycle gang.
All were charged with the following drug offences – cultivating a prohibited plant (commercial quantity), supplying a prohibited drug (large commercial quantity) and participating in criminal groups contributing to criminal activity.
As usual, the NSW Police force were quick to share their seizure success on Facebook. And as usual again, there are plenty of share worthy comments on the post.
Well done!! Only 2-3 more busts at most and I’m sure that’ll be every illicit cannabis operation shut down for the rest of the foreseeable future! Congrats on a successful 50 year campaign 🥂 Absolutely essential use of tax payer money – love your work!! – Chris E
