NSW man arrested in Budgewoi bust

A New South Wales man has been arrested after police discovered a makeshift hydroponics house in the state’s central coast.

NSW Police carried out a search warrant on a property in Delia Ave, Budgewoi at 9.50am last Tuesday. At the property, officers uncovered six cannabis plants if various sizes growing in an amateur hydroponics operation

Police arrested the homes 44-year-old occupant during the raid, taking him to Wyong Police station. NSW police mentioned the man is currently assisting officers with the investigation, and is expected to be charged with cultivating a prohibited plant as well as other drug offences.

Investigations into the hydroponics operations are continuing.

While this bud-bust may seem like big news for Budgewoi, it pales in comparison to the $100.5 million in cannabis NSW police seized in the first half of 2020.
