8 month investigation concludes in 8 arrests

Strike Force Bato results in 8 arrests made on alleged members of an organised criminal enterprise involving cannabis, high power vehicles, and a tractor. Raids which were carried out in the early morning of March 18 in Dubbo and Hunter Valley, have resulted in around $900,000 worth of cannabis being seized and $140,000 in cash confiscated. On top of that, the police also snagged a Falcon V8 Supercar, a GTS HT Monaro, seven motorbikes, three cars, a quad bike, and a lonesome tractor - all alleged to be the proceeds of criminal activities. More than 80 police members were involved in the investigation. Including those from the Australian Border Force, the New South Wales Crime Commission, and the local Orana and Hunter Valley police departments. All up - it took more than 8 months of taxpayers money funding more than 80 police members to seize a mere $900,000 in cannabis. Superintendent McKenna said it was a significant bust.
