$475,000 Of Cannabis Seized in Traffic Stop
More criminals have fallen to the golden rule of always follow the road rules when transporting illegal goods. This time, speeding has left them in a world of trouble.
Two men, aged 24 and 29, were travelling along the Pacific Highway in Ballina in their classic Honda Accord. They were doing everything right, except for going 18km/h over the 80km/h limit. And, of course, speeding with half a million worth of cannabis in their boot.

What officers expected to be a routine speeding infringement, progressed into something much more after they became suspicious of the vehicle and its passengers.
Officers proceeded to inspect the vehicle, when they found, hidden in plain sight, seven large duffle bags in the boot - all padlocked and zip tied to avoid further suspicion.
Once opened, 75 bags of cannabis was found adding up to approximately 54kg in total.
The 54kg cannabis was taken to the station
The two men were charged with taking part in the commercial supply of cannabis and possessing a prohibited drug.
They were both refused bail to appear before Byron Bay Local Court.
Let this be a reminding lesson to all, if you're transporting illegal goods, follow the road rules.
Please note, for legal purposes, Pondering Pot and its authors to not condone transporting illegal goods.
