No - Weed Doesn't Cure Covid-19

Despite what some headlines around the world are reporting - no, smoking weed will not prevent you from getting the new corona virus, nor will it cure you of it. Back in early March, social media went haywire of the supposed news report claiming weed kills the latest strain of corona virus out of China - Covid-19. Image claiming weed kills the new corona virus Image claiming weed kills the new corona virus The above image was originally shared on Twitter by the Indian film maker, Vivek Agnihotri. He also used the image to argue the case for cannabis legalisation in India. Thankfully, the false information was quickly debunked as it was found he simply used a breaking news generator to create the image. Fortunately, not many fell for the news, with hundreds of the comments claiming fake news as well. But that hasn't stopped folks from continuing the trend on Twitter: To those above if you're reading this - weed doesn't kill the corona virus. There is no scientific proof of the fact. Please stop jeopardising your health and the health of those around you to find an excuse to smoke more weed. On top of that, if you do have the corona virus and it moves into your lungs causing difficulty breathing, the last thing you'll want to be doing is inhaling hot smoke. Your lungs need all they have to fight the virus. Wherever you are in the world, your best bet to stay safe against Covid-19 is to do your own research, follow the advice of your government, and fact check the information you consume as much you can. Stay safe out there!
